Five Things Not To Do In Your Skin Care Routine
Skin care routines can be as easy as washing and applying. Although that is usually the case, there are some things you shouldn’t do to get the most out of your skin care routine.
Don’t Cleanse Too Often
Cleansing your face too often can result in losing the top layer of oil on the skin. This will cause more oil to appear. Thus, clogged pores, whiteheads and blackheads. It is recommended to cleanse only up to twice a day.
Don’t Tug Eye Area
It is important not to rub and pull the thin skin around your eyes. Rubbing can result in bags appearing under your eyes.
When removing makeup, hold the cotton pad against your lids for 20 seconds and gently clean it away.
When putting on eye cream, pat along your contours with your ring finger until the cream sinks in.
Don’t Choose the Wrong Products for Your Skin Type
Like makeup, skin care products can be fun. But it is important not to play around with everything out there. It’s better to use products that serve the purpose you are trying to fulfill.
If you have acne problems, then get products that prevent acne.
If you have dry skin, then get the products that offer extra moisture.
You also have to consider your skin’s complexion. For oily skin you can use a foaming face wash. For sensitive skin, creamy cleansers are the better choice.
Don’t Lather All Over
If you use shower gels, you don’t have to lather all over. Just use it on your glands and skin folds such as behind the ears, armpits, and groin. Basically anywhere that accumulates sweat and possibly dirt.
Don’t Apply Too Much
More is not better when it comes to skin care products. Pea sized amounts of lotion and cream should be enough to cover the entire face.
